Water Information & Updates
This large and very productive water offers great sport for all anglers. It has a large head of fish including Carp, Crucian, Bream, Roach, Chub and specimen Perch to over 2lb.

Covid 19 Additional Update

Following advice, the PDAS are pleased to confirm the following in addition to the General Water Rules and Specific Water Rules:

 

1 – All waters will re- open on Wednesday 13th May at 12 noon, NO anglers allowed on any water until 12 noon as preparations for re-opening will not be finished until this time.

2 – All waters will have restrictions to conform to Angling Trust guidelines.  This could mean for example that certain swims are closed and taped off. Under NO circumstances is fishing allowed outside the swims that are open. Any additional water rules will be posted at the specific water and the club website individual water pages.

3 – Maximum stay on any water is limited to 24 hours.

4 – Anglers must always maintain a safe distance (minimum of 15 metres) from other anglers whilst fishing on the water. There is no sharing of pegs or fishing tackle except by members of the same household.

5 – Anglers MUST carry their own hand sanitizers to use after opening gates and pad locks.

6 – Anglers must only travel to venues on their own or with other members of their family. Cars must not be shared.  Take particular care when parking not to break social distancing rules.

7 – Bailiffs will still be checking memberships and adherence to rules. This will be carried out at a safe distance, you need to show your membership and not pass it to the bailiff. Do not approach within 2 metres of a bailiff.

8 – Do not visit any water if you have symptoms of COVID-19. Stay at home and follow Government advice on isolation.

9 – Anyone breaking these rules or existing club rules will be asked to leave and reported to the disciplinary committee.

Please stay safe and be responsible for your actions to protect yourself and other anglers and understand that there may be times you turn up and all swims are taken.

Water Rules

Please note: These rules have been updated since the handbook was printed. Please follow the below.

All general water rules apply plus the following:

  1. Maximum of 3 kilo of bait per 24 hours.
  2. Maximum stay on the water is 24 hours.
  3. Fishing is only allowed on the South bank apart from 4 swims on the North bank. Due to the access changes and installation of the parking adjacent swims the North bank swims will no longer be provided.
  4. Parking & Access

Subject to certain rules – there are 3 car parks which can be used by all PDAS members on the South side of the lake. There are also times when specific PDAS anglers are able park directly behind   their swim (parallel to the track – not right on the grass). There is also additional parking on the north side of the lake available to PDAS anglers.

The Rules are:

4. No large vans are allowed onto the lake unless part of a bonafide angling organised Charity, Memorial or Match event. Only car derived vans allowed on this water. The bridge has a maximum 2 tonne weight limit. Members are responsible for confirming the weight of their vehicle.

5. Sunday to Friday up to 9 members cars can use the numerous angling car parks on South side. If the car parks are full, then members must park on the north side of the lake using bonafide Car Park. This includes members who are fishing through the night.

6. Saturday – members can park up in the angling car parks before 07.30, however no cars may be moved until after 10:30. If the car parks are full, then anglers must park on the north side of the lake using bonafide Car Park. No vehicle access to the water between 07.30 and 10:30.

7. Sunday to Friday – up to 4 Blue badge holding members may park behind their swims in the day (subject to suitable ground conditions).

8. Anglers may park behind their swims (subject to suitable ground conditions) at Bonafide angling organised Charity, Memorial or Match events which are agreed with Lakeside. PDAS will manage vehicle access and movements for these events.

9. Certain Lakeside events may mean all angling access is unavailable for a defined time.

10. PDAS representatives (bailiffs and fishery team members) may access the water at any time (subject to rule 6 above) to carry out bailiffing and water management activities.

11.Security Patrol 24 hrs a day and have final say.

12. No fly-fishing.

13. No dogs allowed.

14. Night fishing is for members only.
